Özet (EN)
Sait Faik Abasıyanık is one of the most important writers in modern Turkish short story writing. He focuses on the inner world of individuals and on people who are often excluded from society, showing their lives within everyday situations. His stories allow readers to explore social issues such as class, gender, and urban life in a deep and meaningful way. This study aims to explore how the human body is represented in Sait Faik's stories and to understand how these bodily images reflect the relationship between individuals and society. First, the concept of the body is explained from historical, philosophical, sociological, and literary perspectives. Then, selected stories by Sait Faik are analyzed using a text-based method to better understand the role of the body in his narratives. The main goal of this thesis is to reveal the body images in his stories and to show how these images help us understand the characters' place within the social structure. This study also contributes to the literature on body representations in literature by showing how Sait Faik presents the body in different ways and connects it to social issues. Keywords: Sait Faik Abasıyanık, body image, literature, social exclusion, desire, nonconformity.
