The distribution of education in Sakarya province

Dr. Hasan KARASakarya is located in the east of Marmara Region. Scientific and detailedresearches in the field of education about Sakarya is not sufficiently done. This situationcauses lack of sources for further researches. In this research, the education activities inSakarya in 2004-2005 term has been explained being considered some scientificconcepts such as causality, reason-result and distribution. This research involves notonly the analyse of the educational process of Sakarya, but also a general view on thehistorical process of the educational activities all around the country. Some sources suchas printed works, statiscal datas and local observation were used while analysing theeducational structure of Sakarya. Datas and statistics about primary and secondaryeducation in 2004-2005 are collected from a local department of National EducationMinistry; datas and statistics about academic education are collected from SakaryaUniversity. This research shows us that process of education in Sakarya is not as muchas wanted, however it is in a fast processing era. The effects of the earthquake in 1999,August 17, on education of Sakarya are also underlined in this research. Although theprojects such as 8 years of obligatory education and transporting system, and earthquakecaused a decrease in the quantity of the schools in Sakarya, it has been handled and thenumber of the schools has been increased. Topographic structure of the research areaand the amount of the villages and the distances of these random located villages areaffecting primary and secondary education negatively.
