Abstract (EN)

Plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are considered one of the major pests of cereal crops and cause serious crop losses. Among Plant Parasitic Nematodes, especially Cereal Cyst Nematodes (CCN) and Root Lesion Nematodes (RLN) have a special importance as they are the most harmful nematode species in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. In the present study, it was aimed to determine the prevalence and density of PPNs in the wheat and barley production fields of Sakarya province. In the 2020-2021 growing season, 40 soil and root samples were taken at irregular land exits during the bolting and harvest time of wheat. A total of 9 important PPNs genera were detected by using morphological, morphometric, and molecular identification methods. The obtained PPNs were identified as Heterodera sp., Pratylenchus sp., Filenchus sp., Ditylenchus sp., Helicotylenchus sp., Paratrophurus sp., Scutylenchus sp., Zygotylenchus sp., Basiria sp., were the most prevalent species in the sampled areas. Identified species are Basiria graminophila, Filenchus thornei, Filenchus cylindricauda, Filenchus filiformis, Ditylenchus myceliophagus Ditylenchus parvus, Helicotylenchus digonicus, Helicotylenchus platyurus, Pratylenchus thornei, Pratylenchus pratensis, Zygotylenchus guevarai, Paratrophurus striatus, Paratrophurus loofi, Scutylenchus quadrifer ve Heterodera filipjevi. KEYWORDS: Plant-parasitic nematodes, Cereals, Pratylenchus sp., Heterodera sp.
