Evaluation of distance education applied during the pandemic period in line with student opinions the example of Baibü Faculty of Theology

The Covid-19 epidemic, which emerged in China at the end of 2019 and spread all over the world at the beginning of 2020, has shown its effect in all economic, political and social fields. Education is one of the areas most affected by this situation. The epidemic required some restrictions all over the world and took some decisions to prevent the epidemic in Turkey. With the decisions taken, face-to-face education was suspended at all levels and students entered the distance education process. Theology faculties providing higher religious education were also affected by this process. The sudden and unpreparedness of the process brought many problems with it. The aim of the research is to measure the attitudes of the students who are studying at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Theology and who have had and are still receiving distance education due to the epidemic, to reveal the positive and negative aspects of distance education, and to make suggestions for the applications to be made in the following years, in this way to increase the efficiency of distance religious education. The research was conducted in descriptive survey model, with a questionnaire which has a valid and reliable 5-point Likert scale. As a result of the research, it was determined that the students' attitudes towards distance education were generally at an average level. The findings were interpreted in five sub-factors and suggestions were made.
