Abstract (EN)
Folk culture elements form the cultural memory codes that constitute the integrity and unity of a society. It is the memories of integrity that make up the lives of individuals and societies. The elements that make up the memories are hidden in the moments shared together.These moments are found in belief, thinking and living patterns for a society. In this study, the novels and stories of Salim Nizam, who was born and raised in Gönen district of Balıkesir and continued his writing life in Gönen, were examined in terms of folk culture elements. There are traces of the immigrant culture of Bandırma, Gönen and Manyas in Salim Nizam's works. Anonymous folk literature, sufi literature, beliefs and practices, transitional stages of life, examples from the social life of the period were used extensively in the author's works. These elements continue to live in the region today. Keywords: Salim Nizam, novel, story, folk culture ,belief.
