Abstract (EN)

Salicylamides are compounds known for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Due to antibiotic resistance and the ineffectiveness of antimicrobial compounds against microorganisms, there has been a growing need for new antimicrobial agents. In response to this need, the antimicrobial effects of salicylamide-derived molecules have been investigated. Within the scope of this thesis, 10 salicylamide-O hydrazide-hydrazone esters were synthesized. The structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated using ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The antimicrobial and antifungal activity of the synthesized compound series was investigated against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi. In vitro microsomal metabolism studies were carried out on the compound showing the highest antimicrobial activity, and its metabolites were identified.
