Abstract (EN)
As with all artistic movements, the developments and changes in western classical music over time can also be seen in the instruments, in order to meet the musical requirements of composers and periods. In a way, this constant change in instruments has also shown changes in the past to meet the demands of music and composers according to the period, to provide long and stable use, to contribute to the development of the player in tone-intonation and agility. As these developments took place, a number of inventors, players and composers came to the fore. The clarinet, like all other instruments, has undergone a long process of development from the past to the present and is still evolving today. Johann Christoph Denner is undoubtedly one of the most important inventors in the history of the clarinet, which has evolved from a primitive reed instrument used as a wind instrument in 2700 B.C. to the chalumeau and then to the present day with the addition of frets. Denner, an instrument maker from Nuremberg, became famous for the block flutes he made, and he used this mastery to make the chalumeau and chalumeaux. Many sources describe Johann Cristoph Denner as the "inventor of the clarinet". The adventure of the clarinet's development continued with the production of clarinets with an increasing number of pitches over time, and it gradually consolidated its place in the orchestra by improving the intonation, range and playing skills of the players. Antonio Vivaldi, one of the most important composers of the Baroque period, is known not only for his productivity but also for being one of the first composers to use the clarinet in his works. Composing over 500 concertos and concertants, Vivaldi made the clarinet possible by combining it with other instruments. Examples of Vivaldi's use of the clarinet are RV 779: Trio Sonata, RV 664: Juditha Triumphans (soprano chalumeau, 2 clarinets), RV 556: "per la Solennità di San Lorenzo" (2 clarinets), RV 555: Concerto in C major (2 chalumes), RV 579: Concerto Funebre in B flat major (2 chalumeaux), RV 559: Concerto in C major (Concerto for 2 oboes and 2 clarinets), RV 560: Concerto in C major (Concerto for 2 oboes and 2 clarinets), RV 558: Concerto in C major (2 chalumeaus). In contrast to these works, it is also suggested that he did not write a concerto because he did not consider the clarinet sufficient as a solo instrument. Based on the idea that Vivaldi did not write a concerto for solo clarinet and that his music is well suited to the clarinet, Andreas Nikolai Tarkmann, an oboist, composer and award-winning arranger, together with the world's leading Swedish clarinet virtuoso Martin Fröst, have, as a result of their extensive research, produced three separate concertos with a meticulous study of selected arias written by Vivaldi, recorded them and introduced them into the clarinet repertoire. This study analyses the development of the chalumeau, the chalumeaux and the clarinet from different perspectives and includes the repertoire of these instruments. In addition to the development of the clarinet, the life, works and music of the prolific composer Antonio Vivaldi, who used the clarinet in his works, and his Concerto No.1 for Clarinet and Orchestra, which is based on his music, are also discussed. In addition, this study aims to provide clarinetists with suggestions on the importance of breath management, intonation and conditioning studies, as well as recommendations that are thought to provide ease of playing for the aforementioned work, and to be a guide for performers who wish to perform this new work that has been introduced into the clarinet repertoire.
