Conservative woman's construction in the opinion of Sâmiha Ayverdi

Sâmiha Ayverdi who is one of the most foremost names in Turkish literature is major names of Turkish conservative thought as well. Although she is supporters of modernization she looked to events of conservative perspective. This perspective which has sûfi elements has led Sâmiha Ayverdi to take a skeptical stand against Western culture and civilization. She, as a conservative woman, points out to cultural view in order to deal with mildly modern transformation of women in behalf of maintaining of old cultural merits. Ayverdi highlights the ''Turkish Muslim Woman'' as a resistant moral core of Conservatism and Turkish Modernisation. Therefore, Sâmiha Ayverdi's perspective on Eastern civilization which consisted by the Ottoman social life and Western civilization is signified.
