Abstract (EN)

The Japanese wood printing technique that started in China, Estamps, started to be used later in Japan. In the 18th and 19th centuries, some Japanese Estamp artists made tree prints that are known and appreciated all over the world. Japanese culture and art, which has been closed to the outside world for many years, opened its doors to the whole world in 1850 and became a fashion in Europe. Especially in the 19th century, the wood prints called estamp made by Japanese print artists were collected by European artists and became the subject of their art. In this context, it has also inspired art branches and movements such as Impressionism, Art Nouveau, Sculpture, Theater, which have an important place in the history of Japanese art and painting. However, the boundaries of the study were limited to 19th century western painting artists and movements.
