Image as art production medium

Till the invention of photography, the most traditional way of having representations of images on a specific surface was drawing. Along with the photography, the function of the hand has been taken over by the eye and the traditional drawing methods have been placed by portraying with light. Meanwhile videos have included the screen, which had not existed before, into the portraying with light process. Screen has become the symbol of a social transformation with the new usage forms that bright surface put in the daily life. Within the scope of this study, as an art production media, the image's relation with myths and philosophy and how it has transformed in consideration of technological developments by means of notion and style has been examined.
