Structurel problems of art

In this thesis, two problems, the meaning of art and the place of locality and universality in art, are examined. The underlined problems were examined in the context of the structure of art in which they came together. In line with the universal needs of mankind, culture and its element have been produced in various ways by the communities that are together for geographical, social and historical reasons. Thus while local cultural formations were shaped within the universal culture, art which is the universal spirituel needs of man was also met by local arts and artistic understandings. However the views on the meaning of art and the role of locality and universality in art contain problems which have been developed starting from the modern period. Since art is explained by reducing it to a work of art, its integrity is fragmented and its social and cultural background is ignored. Another problem is that the modern art and philosophy of art which developed in 18th century saw Western art as universal, seeing the art of other societies as local, and spreading it globally. In the face of these problems it is necessary to discuss the structure of art to show that every art is established with locality and universality and to justify that all understandings of art are valuable. For the discussion in question, it is important to re-establish the problem to use a new approach and to produce an explanation model. With this understanding the structure of art is discussed in the context of its origin, locality, universality and future with an anthropological approach. As a result of the examination it has been revealed that the structure of art is a holistic action-fact-value that includes the artist-artwork-audience building blocks and that the structural elements are formed by locality and universality. In this context by emphasizing the importance of all understandings of art, suggestions for the future of art are presented so that the value of art can be lived.
