Abstract (EN)
This thesis examines the integrated use of various materials such as ceramics, metal, and wood with glass in glass art, and investigates the aesthetic and technical effects of these combinations in production. When the qualities of glass—such as transparency, interaction with light, and malleability—are combined with the surface richness of ceramics, the durability and shine of metal, and the natural warmth of wood, new possibilities of meaning emerge. This is not only a technical synthesis but also offers rich conceptual content in terms of interdisciplinary approaches. The research first addresses the fundamental developmental process of glass and its physical and chemical properties, then analyzes the material's interactions with ceramics, metal, and wood through various applications within this context. In the glass production process, traditional methods such as hot glass blowing and cold glass shaping techniques are emphasized. The diverse modes of expression of glass are explored through original artworks. In this scope, the designs consist of metal–glass, wood–glass, and ceramic–glass compositions. Each design was produced in the studio using various glass-making techniques, revealing their artistic effects and potential. This study highlights the artistic possibilities offered by material diversity in glass art and proposes alternative production methods for artists.
