Özet (EN)
Global challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, and resource scarcity necessitate the restructuring of production processes in line with sustainability principles. In this context, green transformation has become not only an environmental imperative but also a strategic choice that creates a competitive advantage. The literature emphasizes that green transformation provides significant benefits to companies in areas such as energy efficiency, cost reduction, and corporate reputation. However, the existence of various structural and financial obstacles to the transformation process, particularly for SMEs, is also noteworthy. This study aims to examine the concept of green transformation, which is gaining increasing importance within the framework of sustainability and environmental responsibility, specifically for manufacturing industry enterprises operating in Bilecik province. Green transformation has become not only an environmental imperative for today's businesses but also a strategic necessity for competitive advantage and corporate reputation. The literature emphasizes that the successful implementation of green transformation processes requires the adoption of environmentally friendly production techniques, increased energy and resource efficiency, the integration of circular economy practices, and the training of employees in this regard. In this study, a phenomenological design, a qualitative research method, was employed, and in-depth interviews were conducted with representatives from ten different businesses. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis steps, and meaningful inferences were drawn from the themes. The findings reveal that companies have varying perceptions and practices regarding green transformation. While some businesses view this process as a strategic opportunity and develop comprehensive sustainability policies, others are content to simply fulfill legal obligations. Cost pressures and regulatory challenges were among the most commonly cited obstacles. It was also observed that most companies focus on areas such as energy efficiency and waste management, but have not sufficiently integrated advanced practices such as carbon footprint measurement, supply chain sustainability, and green innovation. Consequently, to effectively implement green transformation at the local level, it is recommended that technical and financial support for companies be increased, training activities be expanded, and green policy frameworks be restructured to align with sectoral needs.
