Relationship with Sanliurfa sıra gecesi and tourism: An evaluation on businesses organizing sıra gecesi

There are many studies on Şanlıurfa sira nights and music, but there is no study on the impact of Şanlıurfa sira nights on tourism in Turkey. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of traditional sira night activities in Şanlıurfa on tourism. In the study, a semi-structured questionnaire and interview technique were used and data were collected from 19 businesses that organized sira night in Şanlıurfa. The findings revealed that sira night in Şanlıurfa is a tourist attraction that directly affects tourism and has turned into an indispensable activity for visitors; In terms of destination satisfaction, it has been seen that sira nights are a heritage value that meets the entertainment needs and also allows cultural interaction. It has been determined that there are changes in the number of enterprises and service elements of enterprises compared to the past. There are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic businesses that serve women and men together; It has been determined that sira night occupies a very prominent place in the touristic entertainment image of the city. It has been revealed that the demand for sira night is mostly driven by travel agencies and there is intense competition among the businesses in the city.
