Sari Abdullah Effendi's "Cevâhir-i Bevâhir-i Mesnevî", volume II (analysis-text)

Besides being a poet, Sari Abdullah Effendi was one of the Sufi scholars and politicians of the 17th Century Ottoman Empire. His work named Cevâhir-i Bevâhir-i Mesnevî is the commentary of the first book of Mesnevî-i Manevî written by Mevlana, who has such an important place in Turkish Literature. Aforementioned commentary is important for demonstrating the profound knowledge and wisdom of commentators along with the meaning depths of Mesnevî. Beside more than 30 confirmed manuscript copies of the work, which is the most comprehensive commentary of Mesnevi's first book, there is also a printed copy with 5 volumes. According to the printed copy, the author copy regarding the part corresponding to the second volume is also picked out and the text of the work is written in transcription alphabet based on the mentioned copy. When the script is being written, the other important copies were also attributed when deemed necessary. The analytical part of the work was made very inclusively. In this way, the rich content of Cevâhir-i Bevâhir-i Mesnevî, which is not found in any other Turkish Mesnevî commentaries, was made available to the readers and researchers to use. Furthermore, a separate part was made for the copies, and a detailed information was given about the confirmed copies of the work along with the author's copy.
