The growth and increment relationships of mistletoe in natural rejuvenation and afforestation areas and economical results: Gümüşhane example

Mistletoe (Viscum Album L.) is a half-parasitic plant with a negative effect on growth and development in the species of yellow peach, fir and all-leaved trees. With this feature, mistletoe drops the quality of yellow pollack wood and causes loses in the economic value of the products to be obtained. In the literature survey, it is seen that there are few studies on the economic depreciation caused by mistletoe. It has been understood that the work undertaken in general includes the tree groups of age d. In this study, unlike the previous studies, it was focused on the young group of trees. The work was carried out on the fields of afforestation and natural rejuvenation. In this context, in order to determine mistletoe infestation, a total of 16 sample areas were selected to reflect the field best in both natural rejuvenation areas and afforestation areas. In these sample areas, contamination and mistletoe morphological age were determined. Afterwards, two healthy individuals and two mistresses were observed from both areas and the relationship between the volume increase and the body analysis was examined. Exposure to the mistletoe was correlated with the height of the tree and the relationship between the tree and chao was obtained by the t-test performed. The simple linear regression analysis modeled the relationship between diameter and height increment of healthy and mistletoeed yellowtail individuals. After determining the costs of maintenance and afforestation in the area, the financial value of the tree fortune and the damage caused by the 1 m³ target forest product of the yellowpot individuals were determined.
