Abstract (EN)

This study covers the development and validity-reliability tests of the Likert "Satir's Coping Stances Scale" based on the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy Model. The research was carried out with a total of 459 participants, 363 women and 96 men over the age of 18. Research data were collected between November 2022 and February 2023. Personal information form was used as data collection tool, Satir's Outline of Coping Stances Scale (SBSS), Schema Mode Inventory, Young Compensation Scale and Young Avoidance Scale were used as data collection tools.. Satir's Coping Stances Scale was prepared by the researcher in line with the literature and expert opinions, in the form of a 5-point Likert-type 336 items. The scale form, which was reduced to 50 items after content validity, was used in the study. IBM SPSS 26.0 program was used to analyze the data. The suitability of the data for Explanatory Factor Analysis (EFA) was evaluated with Kaiser Meyer Olkin Test Result (KMO) and Barlett's Test. Kaiser-Varimax rotation method was used as the rotation method in AFA. The reliability of the Irrelevant, Placating, Super Reasonable and Blaming sub-dimensions scores was evaluated with Croanbach's α. According to the results of the analysis obtained, Satir's Coping Postures Scale consists of four sub-dimensions (Irrelevant-Placating-Super Reasonable-Blaming) and eight factors (Irrelevant-Behavioral Avoidant, Irrelevant-Emotional Avoidant, Placating-Self Sacrificing, Placating – Feeling Guilty, Super Reasonable-The Righteous is Right, Super Reasonable-Controller, Blaming -Aggressive, Blaming-Accusing) consisted of 26 items in total. In our study, the lowest item-total correlation was 0.32, while the highest correlation was 0.66. The results of the analysis on internal consistency were tested to find that the internal consistency of Satir's Coping Stances Scale was sufficient. These initial research findings were aimed to be pioneers in the context of future research and practices.
