Current approaches in the defence i̇ndustry acqusi̇ti̇on and its evaluation in our country's defence procurement

Defense industry is not only one of the most resource-allocated sectors for R&D activities but also has a crucial role in countries' economical budgetary systems . The development of national defense systems, reducing dependence on foreign sources and access to larger markets in the world by developing innovative products are critical in terms of the strategic objectives of the countries. For this reason, in many countries, defense expense takes the largest share in public expenditures. In this study, basic features of the defense industry and differences from other industry sectors with historical developing of Turkey Defence System and up-to-date situation, the indicators representing the size of implemented projects of R&D activities in Turkish defense industry are summarized, comparisons and evaluations are made with the applications in the world.
