Introduction to scada systems and communication protocols used

Nowadays, the energy sector, which is facing an increasing demand, must have a suitable infrastructure to meet the demands. One of the most important issues to be considered when building the infrastructure; energy should be delivered to the end consumer in a continuous and quality way. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems are mainly used in electrical networks, water networks, natural gas networks, steam and industrial control systems. In the thesis study, relays were relayed via serial ports and the location information was transferred from the breakers and separators in order to obtain current values from the relays. In the event of a power failure in the center, the battery group is connected to monitor the data. In the panel used in our thesis study, auxiliary relays are firstly disabled in case of faults that may occur by using auxiliary relays. Surge arresters and fuses are used in order to prevent malfunctions in the panel. Thanks to the software used, global access to the system is provided. SCADA systems have three main components. RTU (Remote Terminal Unit), central stations and communication environments. In this study, the information from the cutters and relays in the 1 CMC (Cutter Measurement Cabinet) was moved to RTU to monitor the signals and data, so that the effect of SCADA on the downtime was investigated.
