Comparative analysis of Elazığ politics based on election results

Elazig is a province located in the Eastern Anatolia Region, which has hosted multiple cultures, beliefs and political views from past to present. It has a strategic position in the overall nationalist and regions because it is a city that is dominated by the conservative contrast to the political leanings of the public to judge which geographic regions found in the general political trends in Turkey has a political structure on the same plane. Understanding the political tendency of Elazig in terms of its structure and addressing the various factors that cause voters' preferences is important and significant in terms of Turkish politics in general and Elazığ in particular. Attitudes, ideas and beliefs in a free environment are important in shaping the behavior of voters, who have a decisive role in the coming of power of political parties. Rational choice, sociological and socio-psychological approaches are important in research on voter behavior since 1900s. This study was aimed at Turkey's importance in the general politics of the political structure from 1980 until today, Elazig and analysis of factors affecting the choice of the voters. Documentary reviews from qualitative research techniques were conducted and content analysis was made based on the results of 11 general elections and 8 local elections since 1980, and information was provided on the political structure of Elazig and the major factors affecting the behavior of voters in 39 years. As a result of these data, it has been determined that factors such as the environment, party leader, candidate factor, which are the factors that cause voters' preferences in certain periods are important, and Elazig is dominating the "right" policy tradition despite the minimal differences that occur in certain periods.
