Özet (EN)

The aim of this study; To examine the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) in sedentary individuals. The study was conducted with 20 people living in Vezirköprü district of Samsun, 10 of which were in the control group and 10 were in the study (tabata) group. The study was recorded in the computer environment by taking pre-test and post-test. Vertical jump for peak strength, 20m sprint to measure their speed, 20m shuttle run for aerobic strength, push-up test for muscular endurance, ZigZag running test for agility. Calculation of body fat percentage was made with Tanita brand body analysis device. Data analysis was done with IBM SPSS 21 program. Independent samples t-test was used while calculating the posttests of the study and control groups. Paired Samples t-test was used to compare the measurements in the two groups. The significance level was determined as p<0.05. When the preliminary and final values of the tests performed within the group were examined, a significant difference was found in the BMI, vertical jump, 20m sprint, push-ups and VO2Max values of the sedentary individuals (p<0.05). When the control group is examined; There was a negative significant difference in ZigZag running test and 20m sprint test, and a positive difference in VO2Max values (p<0.05). As a result, it was seen that the development level of the study group was positive compared to the control group that trained normally. It is thought that the Tabata protocol will contribute positively when done in addition to training.
