Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is the evaluation that learning need, tendency to science education, and general teaching principles variables' predictive level's effect on the academic achievement of 8th grade science lesson students by structural equation modeling, and the descriptively explaining of the variables. ''General Screening Model'' was used in this study. The study group of the research is made up of 371 8th grade students studying in Göksun and Elbistan districts, Kahramanmaraş province, in the second term of 2020-2021, at schools which are affiliated with the District Directorate of National Education. Data of the research were collected by Learning Need Test, Tendency to Science Education Test, Use of General Teaching Principles Test and Academic Achievement Test. The data, were analyzed by using SPSS 24 and AMOS 24 programs. Data about the sup-purpose of the research were analyzed by frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation techniques. Data about the hypothesis were analyzed by EFA, CFA, and structural equation modeling. About the first sup-purpose of the research, students' awareness level of science lesson learning needs was found high. About the second sub-purpose, the tendency to science education of students was found high. About the third sub-purpose, it was found that teachers' using level of general teaching principles is high. About the data related with the hypothesis of the research; learning needs, general teaching principles, and tendency to science learning meaningfully affect and explain academic achievement of the science lesson. In other words, it was found that learning needs, use of general teaching principles, and tendency to science education are essential predictors of the science lesson academic achievement. Consequently, diverse suggestions were presented in the light of outcomes of the research.
