Abstract (EN)

In 1095, Pope II in Clermont, France. Urbanus until the Crusades launched by the Anatolian Seljuks ruled in 1190 that the territory of Turkey has been an important transit point on the road to Jerusalem. The group known as the Crusaders of the People who passed to Anatolia in 1096 was easily destroyed by the Seljuks. However, the professional army that came later, captured the Anatolian Seljuk capital Iznik with the help of Eastern Roman, and defeated the Seljuk and Danishmend army in Eskişehir. About 4 years after these events, the Anatolian Seljuks achieved a great victory in the campaign known as the Crusades of 1101, when the Crusaders went to help their brothers in Jerusalem. In 1144, after İmâdeddin Zengî ended the Crusader County of Urfa, a new Crusade was organized. This time, the German Emperor and the King of France joined the expedition with their great armies and were transferred to Anatolia by Byzantium. The Anatolian Seljuks, who gained experience from previous events, won a great victory by defeating the German Crusaders in Eskişehir first. Then, the leftover Germans, who joined with the French, were defeated on the roads leading to Antalya harbor. After that, the remaining Crusaders had no choice but to go to the Suwaydiye Port of Anatakya by sea, and those who could not go by ships were robbed by the Eastern Roman soldiers. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of this expedition was that these poor Crusaders were fed and clothed by the Anatolian Seljuks. The fact that nearly 3,000 Crusaders became Muslim in this way gave a different meaning to the Crusades. During the Third Crusade, which took place with the conquest of Jerusalem by Saladin Ayyubi in 1187, while the French and British chose the sea route, the Germans again tried to reach Jerusalem through Anatolia. Meanwhile, the mighty sultan of the Seljuks II. Kılıcarslan struggled with the throne fights between his sons as he was getting old, and could not give the necessary importance to the struggle with the Crusaders. However, despite this, he did not hesitate to wear them down by making guerrilla warfare with the German Crusaders. Although they occupied Konya, the German Crusaders, who were not voted much here, also reached the Silifke Stream after a difficult journey. Here, the drowning of Emperor Frederich I ended the Anatolian part of the Third Crusade. After that, the Crusaders did not try to cross the Anatolian lands again, they tried to prepare the plans of the Crusades to Syria and Egypt by sea.
