Selendi (Manisa) stady of public doctorship

In this study called 'Public Health' in the county town and villages in Selendi, we try to search the traditional public health of locals' practice, the traditional health center, healing waters and shrines(turbe) and the thoughts within this framework. Undoubtedly, traditional health centers are one of the most important fact of 'Turkish Public Health'. These health centers are blessed for the Turkish Public and considered as a cure. Anatolia has a highly rich culture in terms of health centers, traditional public health practices, medical herbs, shrine and entombed saints and healing waters. There are health centers that public go for alternative treatments, shrines, healing waters and herbalists everywhere in Anatolia. Like other regions Selendi, our subject research, is also highly rich in herbal remedy and health centers. This study includes four parts except for the introduction. In the introduction part we give information about the field of study, the aim of the study, the method of the study, the ranges of the study, history of Selendi, topography, transportation, culture and tourism and population. In the first part of the thesis study, it is mentioned about the public health concept and general features, historical, traditional and religious factors of it, Public Health in Turks and the treatment methods in Selendi. In the second part we explain the health centers and the treatment methods in Selendi. In the third part we point out the traditional methods of 'Health Centers' in Selendi town. In the fourth part of the study, healing waters and shrines that locals often visit are presented. In the conclusion part of the research, there is an evaluation of the subjects related to the four parts mentioned above. At the end of the thesis study, there are the names of the reference books, websites and the list of the reference people written in the Bibliograhy part. In the appendix part there are the photos of our study.
