Index of the literature terms in the `Kâmûs-ı Turkî? by Şemseddîn Sâmî

The identification and the pronunciation of the literature terms used in `Kâmûs-ı Turkî? by Şemseddîn Sâmî, one of the most prominent authors of `Tanzimat Edebiyati?, has been identified as the main idea of this study.Şemseddîn Sâmî, who has been influenced by nationalistic movements and the idea of `art for people? during `Tanzimat? years, has written `Kâmûs-I Turkî? with the aim of contributing to the Turkish literature. With this in mind, the literature terms in the `Kâmûs-ı Turkî? has been identified and the meanings attached to these terms within the period of their usage have been presented with their original transcriptions.Although there are numerous studies that have examined `Kâmûs-ı Turkî?, yet there is none which includes pronunciation with its original transcript. This study is of particular importance as a source in literature terms of the identification of the literature terms which entered our literature within that period of time.İt is given as comparatively the terms and concepts used in Kâmûs-ı Türkî and some examples of contemporary literature terms at work too.Besides it is being given information Turkish dictionaries, having mentioned going on term questions.The roots of the terms, their suffixes and the types of the terms have also been indicated with abbreviations.
