The world of ideas and poem of Şemsettin Ünlü

Şemsettin Ünlü, is one of the successful artists imbedded in Turkish literary history between the second half of the 20th century and the first quarter of the 21st century. Ünlü, who has an important place in Turkish literature with his works that lighted the social, political, economic and cultural life of Turkish history, started his art life with poetry and continued with novel, story, essay and fairy tale. The artist who is mostly known for his novels, expresses that poetry has a special place for him among all the literary genres. Although the poesy and poetry were important for the artist, they remained in the background due to his novelism. In this study, the artist's poesy and poetry have been tried to be highlighted. Since many common topics were determined between the subjects he covered in his essays and poems, a world of his ideas have been tried to be created by using the subjects he covered in his essays. He is one of the artists who have been closely interested in society and have used his art for the benefit of society. After Turkey's most critical periods of the second half of the 20th century, he has been actively participating in the literary world and has been heavily influenced by the events in this period. The troubles, problems, sadness and happiness of the society during the periods between the 19th and 20th centuries have been put into words in his poetry, which genre he started to write during the difficult periods of Turkish society. The artist, who also wrote about these periods in his novels, had the opportunity to evaluate the poems according to the conditions of the period they were written by using the information contained in his novels. His poetry was tried to be interpreted by making use of his essays on his thoughts on poetry, his views on different subjects and his other types of works. As a result of this study, Şemsettin Ünlü, who is known as a successful writer in Turkish literature, also tried to reveal that he was a successful poet.
