Abstract (EN)

Syndicated loan agreements are defined as a form of loan agreement in which multiple banks collectively extend credit and manage it centrally (through a single agent). This study addresses the syndicated loan agreement as a contractual type and discusses the issues and debates it raises under Turkish law. The banking regulations that form the basis of syndicated loan agreements, the establishment process of such agreements and the resulting contractual types, the provisions applicable to this type of contract, and changes in parties to syndicated loan agreements are examined in the study. In addition, the acquisition of securities by a single security agent instead of all creditors, and the controversial legal implications this entails, are also addressed.
