Özet (EN)

This research was conducted under greenhouse conditions in Antalya province in 2020. Totaly nine common sugar maize cultivars were tested in two different sowing times and the randomized block design with three replications was used in this experiment to determine most suitable sowing time and sugar maize cultivars for greenhouse conditions. Traits examined in the research were changed for plant height between 152.2 cm (Merit) – 337.8 cm (Intfa), for ear lenght betweeen 16.2 cm (Merit) – 24.7 cm (AGR), for time to apical tasseling between 38 days (AGR) – 28 days (Mut), for time to silking stage between 41 days (AGR) – 30 days (Mut), for the first cob height 102.4 cm (Intfa) – 42.8 cm (Merit), for the length of its unfilled cob between 3.7 cm (Merit) – 0.1 cm (Mut), for cob diameter between 5.4 cm (AGR) – 4.6 cm (Merit), for the number of grains per cob between 529.6 piece (Hazar) – 278.4 piece (Merit), for unpeeled ear weight between 359 g (Intfa) –188.6 g (Merit), for peeled ear weight between 288.9 g (Hazar) –117 g (Merit), and for brix ratios between % 15.5 (Batem Tatlı) – % 9.5 (Intfa) and differences among the cultivars interms of these examined traits were found to be statistically significant. As a result of the study, it was found that September was the most suitable sowing time for greenhouse sugar maize production in Antalya province and cultivar Batem Tatli was the first cultivar for recommendation in terms of cob yield and quality and it was followed by cultivar Hazar.
