Abstract (EN)

In this study, cerium-based magnetic particles were prepared by ionic cross-linking with cerium (Ce) ions using magnetic iron oxide (Fe3O4) particles and alginate (Alg) and the adsorption potential of these magnetic particles in the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions was investigated. The adsorption parameters for the dye removal of malachite green dye solutions with cerium-based magnetic particles were investigated and the ideal adsorption parameters were determined as pH:9, time (t):100 min, cerium-based magnetic particle amount (m):20 mg, malachite green concentration (C0):20 mg/L, temperature (T):298 K. The adsorption process was found to be compatible with the single-layer Langmuir isotherm and the maximum adsorption capacity obtained according to the Langmuir isotherm was calculated as 37.17 mg/g. The adsorption process was found to be pseudo-second order and the adsorption process was explained by intra-particle diffusion. According to adsorption thermodynamics studies, it was determined that the nature of the adsorption reaction was spontaneous, and this process was endothermic and had increasing randomness. In addition, the reusability of cerium-based magnetic particles was investigated, and it was determined that they could be used successfully.
