Analysis of Sheikh Galib's Diwan

In this doctoral thesis named Analysis of Sheikh Galib's Diwan, the Diwan of Sheikh Galib, one of the 18th-century poets, has been analyzed. In the study, which was prepared with the full analysis method, couplets and quatrains belonging to all verse forms in the Diwan were included in the analysis, and no verse type was differentiated. Thesis; consists of three parts: "God and Creatures, Social Life, Religion, Belief, and Worship". In the first and most comprehensive part of the thesis, an order from top to bottom was followed; First of all, the essence of existence, God, and the use of names and adjectives belonging to Him were examined in the axis of the unity of body philosophy that the poet gave in his poems, and then all the elements related to the Cosmic Realm, Time, Space, Human, Types, and Tribes were analyzed under main and sub-titles. It has been tried to reveal the poet's point of view on nature and human. In the second part, which is collected under the title of "Social Life", how the poet reflects his period in his poetry, how he deals with the elements of social life, which ones he gives weight to, and his approach on this issue. Elements and notions determined under the title of wine, music, war, food, plays, medicine, writing, transportation, clothing, and ornaments have been examined. The last part is the part in which the ways of dealing with religious beliefs and worship are analyzed. In the thesis, after the explanation about the element in question under the headings, the use of this element in the tradition of poetry, how the poet used this element in his diwan, its relationship with other words and elements, which arts it was subjected to and the layers of meaning were examined and the text of the study was tried to be formed in a way that would provide a composition. This study, it is aimed to reveal the traces of the period in which the poet, who is shown among the masters of Diwan poetry, lived, the sources he was fed, the personalities he was influenced by, and his poetic aesthetics and style.
