Glossory of Şeyhülislâm Esad's Divan (Concordance and functional dictionary)

The divan poetry, which continued its existence from the 13th century until the 19th century, is important for the history of Turkish Culture. The evolution, regarding the number of concepts such as world of thought, perspective on life, culture and language, makes Turkish literature texts more difficult to be comprehensible today. However, functional dictionaries and concordances are materials that facilitate the comprehension of the classical Turkishliterature texts. In this study, concordance and functional dictionary were made in the context of the TEBDİZ project of Şeyhülislam Es'ad Divanı whose translation text was published by Muhammet Nur DOĞAN. The meanings of the words and word groups used in "Divan" are alphabetically included with their contexts and, besides, explanations necessary are also available, in addition to the meanings of the words and concepts. The first part of the study is about the poet and his divan, and the second part is the functional dictionary and concordance of Divan of 18 th century poet Şeyhülislam Es'ad Efendi.
