Analysis of the Şeyhülislam İshak Divan

Şeyhülislam İshak Efendi is a statesman and poet who lived in the 18th century. In his poems, he is possible to see the traces of the social life of Sultan III. Ahmet period. He wrote poems in the traditional understanding of Divan poetry. While analyzing his work, the study of Muhammet Nur DOĞAN, whose work is a doctoral thesis, called the Lale Devri Şairi Şeyhülislam İshak ve Diwan was used. In the "Introduction" section of the thesis, information is given about the general situation of the 18th century, the poet's life and literary personality. Our assay is built on four main parts. These sections are "Religion and Sufism", "Society and Elements of Society", "Man" and "Nature". In the analysis part, the reflections of the poet's semantic world in the poem were tried to be determined. The elements identified in the poems were classified by making use of previously prepared analysis studies. With this study, the poet identity and poetry understanding of Şeyhülislam İshak Efendi has been revealed.
