Özet (EN)
Metal gadgets one of the important dicoveries of mankind. Metal objects entered daily life with the use of easily accesible natural copper. The richnes of Anatolia in view of mineral deposits facilitaded the access of man to the minerals throughout history. During the stone ages manking started using the abundant flint and obsidian around him while he also started gathering the native copper for making tools. The difficulty of molding flintstone and obsidian their short durability accelarated the use of metal in human life. Ten thousand years ago in the Pre-pottery Neolithic Age settlements of Çayönü and Aşıklıhöyük tools were made by forging natural native copper. In the Inner Western Anatolia region, which includes Seyitömer Mound, early traces of mining are found at Hacılar 6. layer dated to Late Neolithic Age. Here ceramics that carry copper slag traces were discovered. The earliest metal tools in the region are also discovered in the same settement. Two copper beads and fragments of a pin or needle were discovered in the Ia and IIa layers of Hacılar which are date of Early Calcolithic. This study discusses metal pins discovered at Seyitömer Mound which is geograpichally situated at an important point in the second millenium B.C. during which metal tools making was largely advanced. Some of the pins discovered give clues concerning their possibble use according to the locations they were discovered while others cannot be considered in a specific context. The purpose of use for some of the pins could not be identified due to intense damage. Generally grouped under ornamental pins and sewing needles the former are less in number compared to the latter. Ornamental pins were usually discovered on or close to the people who thought to be dead During a fire. Keywords: Seyitömer Mound, metal pin, Middle Bronze Age pins, Inner Western Anatolia.
