Abstract (EN)

Grey monochrome ceramics, belonging to 1st thousand B.C., which were obtained in Seyitömer Mound, have been examined within this thesis. The aim of this research is to create the catalogue of grey monochrome ceramics belonging to 1st thousand B.C. and evaluate grey ceramics. The research shows that grey monochrome ceramics which have been produced in Seyitömer Mound, have been used from the end of 6th century to the end of Hellenistic period. After the examination of materials which create the thesis topic, the existence of Phryg ceramics even if there is not the Phryg architecture and layer in Seyitömer Mound, has been regarded as a sign that shows Phrygs once lived under the dominance of Persians. The maintenance of Phrygs' culture under the dominance of Persians is the most significant evidence taht shows Phrygs still kept economic tradition in the 5th century B.C. That shows us different ethnical groups once existed in Seyitömer Mound, and those groups kept their cultures in a comfortable way. Within the research all, almost all, mouth and body parts which give profile exist. All the items obtained in Seyitömer Mound, are grouped in their own. Specified groups have been dated in comparision to other samples obtained from other settlements. The evaluation of that material has been made with respect to paste feauture (paste colour and the use of additives) and surface crafting. The material is divided into commodity groups by taking those differences into consideration. Key Words: Seyitömer Mound, Grey Monochrome, 1st thousand B.C., Phryg
