Abstract (EN)

Nature can be described as a painting drawn with high precision, as it contains a lot of plant and animal content with high and unique characteristics that are difficult to count. Scrophulariaceae is one of the plants that are very resistant to water, and it includes the genus Verbascum L, with about 360 species of flowering plants of this family. The superhydrophobic properties of natural surfaces have been attributed to the presence of hierarchical microscale (> 1 μm) and nanoscale (typically below 200 nm) structures on the surface. As a result, a topographical hierarchy is usually essential in fabricating synthetic superhydrophobic surfaces. This review briefly introduces the use of Verbascum hairs to produce chitosan-based membranes/composite membranes with specific properties (extreme water resistance, self-cleaning, antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, excellent mechanical strength, good barrier properties, etc..). Analyzes such as FT-IR, SEM, TGA, Hemostatic analysis, Mtt, etc., have been conducted. In addition, incorporating hierarchical haires into chitosan films has erased transparency and showed good thermal properties with high water resistance properties. These indicate that chitosan films can improve surface coating technology in various industrial and construction fields.
