Özet (EN)

Violence in the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women, also known as the "Law of Violence", including acts, which may or may result in physical, sexual, psychological or economic harm, suffering, pressure and arbitrary obstruction of liberty, is any kind of physical, sexual, psychological, verbal or economic attitudes and behaviors that occur in social, public or private sphere. In this study, although all forms of violence should be researched and taken into consideration, violence against women will be examined in detail. The most exposed to violence in patriarchal societies are women and their children accompanying them. The purpose of this research is to set forth how the women, exposed to violence, evaluate this process and how they overcome the process and how they deal with it. The study group consists of 19 women over 18 years of age who have been subjected to violence once in their lives in Muratpaşa district of Antalya province. The study was conducted using qualitative methodology. Women who were victims of violence were reached using the snowball research model and analyzed by the qualitative analysis method. As a result of the study, it was determined that the participants had expectations from the state to regulate laws and increase penalties. And this shows that laws are insufficient to prevent or minimize violence. The participants were asked how to deal with violence; it has been determined that the most effective method of coping with violence is to learn and practice their rights.
