The relatonship between the perception of self-efficacy of Syrian refugees and their expectations of smoking: Adana sample

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the self-efficacy perception of Syrian refugees and their expectations from cigarette use. In this direction, the relational scanning model, which is one of the most used scanning models in there search process, wasused. The population of there search consists of Syrian adults living in Adana and smoking cigarettes. The sample is; It consists of 413 adults who stated that they smoke at least one cigarette a day and who wanted to participate in there search voluntarily. Research data were collected using the Personal Information Form Self-Efficacy Scale and the Smoking Expectations Scale-Adult Form in Adana. According to the research findings; The main reason for starting smoking is the friend effect with a rate of %63.2. The most cited reason for smoking is psychological relief with %30.5 and for getting troubles with %28.2. While one of the family members of %55.7 of the individuals participating in the study was smoking, %76.0 of the participants stated that their close friends smoked. According to there sults of there search, as the perception of self-efficacy increases, the expectations from smoking also increase. Finally, it can be said that the use of cigarettes has increased due to the expectations of Syrian refugees from cigarettes such as reducing negative emotions, weight control and socialization and taste.
