The effect of warning signs used on cigarattes boxes on university students? smoking habit

In this study, the prevalence of smoking among the youth of universities, its causes and social marketing?s possible effects on the view of university students about smoking habit are targeted to analyze. Collected data via survey questions about smoking behavior of university students is analyzed to observe connections between this behavior andstudents' demographic characteristics, religious beliefs and family structures. With the help of information on these connections, the influence of cigarettes? warning labels on students? smoking habit is analyzed.Research and data analysis methods were used in this study?s application part. The data is collectted by using the method of face to face survey analysis. After the dta collection, simple and main statistial and econometrical techniques aer used for further analysis.Warning labels on cigarettes? packages are used as a technique in the war against smoking. However, in this study it is found that both women and men in universities are not accepting warning labels as agood war technique. They think that up to date the best technique against smoking is the ban of smoking in all closed public places.According to one of the important results, religious faith is more important factor than the education level of the parents when youth needs to say no to smoking. On the one hand, the stronger religious beliefs, the weaker need for smoking; on the other hand, the more family income, the stronger need for smoking.It is determined that brothers?, sisters? and friends? smoking habits have stronger influnce than parents? habit on university students? smoking behavior.
