Investigation of the evaluation barriers of high school teachers working in the Kurtalan district of Siirt according to various variables

In this study, it is aimed to examine the barriers of teachers working in high schools affiliated to the District Directorate of National Education in Kurtalan district of Siirt province, according to various variables. The universe of the research; In the second term of the 2020-2021 academic year, 276 teachers working in high schools affiliated to the District Directorate of National Education in Kurtalan district of Siirt province. In the sample group, a total of 112 teachers, 58 male and 54 female, from each branch working in 9 high schools in the district participated in the research voluntarily. As a data collection tool in the research, the “Leisure Time Barriers Scale-18 (CIS)” developed by Alexandris and Carroll (1997), which was adapted into Turkish by Gürbüz et al. (2012), was used. This scale used consists of 18 items and 6 sub-dimensions such as individual psychology, lack of knowledge, facility, lack of friends, time, and interest were determined. The statements in the scale used were rated as “Absolutely Unimportant (1)”, “Unimportant (2)”, “Important (3)” and “Very Important (4)” as a 4-point Likert type. In the interpretation of the scores obtained from the scale items; 1.00-1.75: absolutely unimportant, 1.76, 2.50: unimportant, 2.51-3.25: important, and 3.26-4.00: very important. The Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient calculated for the scale used in the research ranged from .69 to .79 in terms of sub-dimensions, and it was found to be .84 in total, and it can be said that the scale is quite reliable. As a result of the research; It was concluded that high school teachers consider the barriers to use their free time as important. The barriers of high school teachers to evaluate their free time do not change significantly in all sub-dimensions in terms of gender, educational status, age status, what does free time mean to you, and whether they use their spare time from their jobs or not. In the marital status variable, it was found that the barriers of high school teachers to evaluate their free time did not change significantly in the sub-dimensions of lack of knowledge, lack of facilities / service, lack of friends, lack of time and interest, but there was a significant difference only in the sub-dimension of individual psychology, It has been determined that the obstacles to the vocational year variable do not change significantly in the sub-dimensions of high school teachers' lack of knowledge, individual psychology, facility/service, lack of friends, lack of time and interest, but there is a significant difference only in the sub-dimension of lack of friends.
