Cost evaluation of the production shaft drilled at Siirt Madenköy

In this study, the effect of drilling-blasting, transportation, fortification, ventilation and drainage works on the total cost of drilling the production shaft at Siirt-Madenköy mining site. Two different blasting patterns were applied during shaft drilling and the performance of these patterns on drilling was compared. Number of holes and explosive material usage were significantly reduced in the second blasting pattern. Furthermore, drilling-blasting costs were reduced by 54 % in the second blasting pattern, the acceleration speed was increased and a better shaft section was achieved. The ratio of drilling-blasting works in the total costs was reduced from 3 % to 2 %
