Context index and functional dictionary of Sinan Paşa's Tezkiretü'l-Evliyȃ

In addition to being one of the main objectives of post-text publication studies to reveal all aspects of Classical Turkish Literature, it is also important to consider the texts in terms of words and concepts in respect to preparing data for the historical Turkish dictionary. In particular, the analysis of the early and basic works of Turkish in terms of contextual resolution are remarkable studies in author-text relationship and text analysis. Sinan Paşa and his works are indisputable with regard to language features and style. Many studies have been carried out on the works of Sinan Paşa, which are also important texts with respect to Old Anatolian Turkish. It is inevitable that these works should be discussed in terms of context. This study is the presentation of Tezkiretü'l -Evliyâ, one of the works of Sinan Paşa, who is one of the leading and first representatives of artistic prose in 15th century classical Turkish literature, as a contextual index and functional dictionary. With this study, which is based on the critical text of Sinan Paşa's Tezkiretü'l- Evliyâ, prepared by Emine Gürsoy Naskali, a study that will act upon the studies done so far and make the works of Paşa more understandable is aimed. The contextual index part of this study, which was prepared through the TEBDİZ (Contextual Index and Functional Dictionary) system, is presented in alphabetical order. In the functional dictionary part, the meanings that vary according to the context were determined and the words were interpreted accordingly. The contextual index part of Tezkiretü'l- Evliyâ consists of the selection and arrangement of the witnesses listed as they are in the work by entering among them. In addition, the ayaths, hadiths, proverbs, idioms and patterns in Tezkiretü'l- Evliyâ were determined and the elements that make up the vocabulary of Sinan Paşa were determined.
