Evaluation of tourism values and touristic potential of Sinop destination

This study aims to determine the tourism values of the Sinop destination and evaluate the tourism potential of the destination. In this context, historical, cultural, natural and gastronomic values in the Sinop destination were identified and suggestions were developed to reveal their potential. The compilation method, one of the qualitative research techniques, was used as a method in the study. The physical geographical area of the Sinop destination and the literature sources accessible during the research period were determined as the limitations of the study. As a result of the study, the natural beauties, historical and cultural heritage and gastronomic diversity of the Sinop destination were identified in the city center and districts, and suggestions were developed to reveal the tourism potential of the destination. These suggestions include strengthening the tourism infrastructure, strengthening promotion and marketing strategies, environmental sustainability, tourism businesses and service quality, cultural and artistic events, restoration of historical areas and protection of natural areas, alternative tourism opportunities, increasing events and festivals, ensuring tourist satisfaction and investment and investment opportunities. Collaborations are included. It is predicted that with the implementation of these suggestions, the tourism potential of the Sinop destination will increase and the destination will become more competitive. The results of the study provide an important road map for destination planning, management and marketing organizations, local governments, tourism enterprises and businesses. The study will also make a significant contribution to the limited literature that deals with the Sinop destination in a holistic manner. Considering all these suggestions and findings, the contribution of this study to the literature and the relevant destination is an undeniable fact.
