Özet (EN)

In the globalizing world, a need for information has emerged with the globalization of international markets. Credit rating agencies carry out credit rating activities in an impartial and transparent manner in order to meet this need for information. Credit rating agencies give a grade by evaluating the credit risk of the institutions or states that will be indebted as a result of the credit rating process. These credit ratings given are made up of universal symbols. Financial information users consider these credit ratings before making a decision. For this reason, credit ratings are of great importance in terms of financial markets. In this study, the credit rating is discussed together with the board of directors, which is another prominent factor in businesses as a result of these developments in the financial markets. When the literature is examined, it is an important issue to address the demographic characteristics of the members of the board of directors that the stakeholders have assigned on behalf of the management of the enterprise. In this context, the demographic characteristics of the members of the board of directors of the enterprises such as gender, age, nationality, experience, independence status, education level and the changes in the credit rating grades over the years were examined with the help of graphs and tables.
