Investigation of the environmental liability of companies through sustainability reports

The aim of this thesis is to investigate what do the companies report on the environment in the sustainability reports issued on an annual basis. In eliminating environmental problems, it is particularly important to understand the contribution of companies to the environment during the year in terms that they serve as a model to other operating companies. In this context, the research was carried out on the sustainability reports published by the companies in the manufacturing industry sub-sectors included in the Borsa İstanbul Sustainability Index. As a result of the study, it has been determined that innovation is of great importance in fulfilling the responsibilities of the companies towards the environment and thus ensuring environmental sustainability.
