Özet (EN)

Nocturnal hypertesion is diagnosed with blood pressue values ?125/80 mmHg during night period by ambulatory blood pressure monitors. Arachidonic acid metabolites produced by cytchrome P450 enzyme system in either liver or vascular bed have a role on the regulation of blood pressure The aim of this study was to investigate any association between nocturnal hypertension and CYP2J2*7 which is a common polymorphism of CYP2J2 enzyme coding gene with elderly Turkish population. We also studied the effect of CYP2J2*7 polimorphism on blood pressure parameters.Ambulatory blood pressure monitors were applied for 24 h and 5 ml peripheral blood were obtained from the study participants. Genomic DNA obtained from peripheral leucocytes. CYP2J2*7 genotype was determined using real time PCR. Blood pressure data transferred from ambulatory blood pressure monitors to computer. Data were fitted according to the volunteer?s waking and sleeping times via ABPM-FIT and CV-Sort programmes. All statistical calculations were performed using Sigma Stat 3.1.We could not find statistically significant assosication between nocturnal hypertension and CYP2J2*7 polymorphism. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure parameters of CYP2J2*7 carriers were tended to be rise. Morning systolic blood pressure surge was found to be statistical significantly higher in CYP2J2*7 carriers than wild type.CYP2J2*7 polimorphism should be considered while evaluating nocturnal hypertension and cardiovascular or cerebrovascular risk profile.
