Factors that create and change political attitudes: The case of Muğla

In terms of the concept of the individual and its political importance; Although it has a very broad meaning in everyday language, it is often neglected and perceived as a single person. However, the concept includes more than a single person. Individuals need to prove their existence and effectiveness in the environment they live in, so from the moment they are born, they determine their attitudes in line with their families and then their expanding environment. Individuals may have changing and unchanging attitudes over time. In the field of politics, the role of the individual is great. Where there is an individual, there is politics. In this sense, it is of great importance to consider the psychology of politics. Because the psychology of the individual affects their political behavior, attitudes and participation. There are different reasons for changing attitudes in political participation. Apart from the attitudes that individuals determine in line with their characteristic features, there are also attitudes that are determined and changed by the influence of their gender, age, education, profession, media and mass media, that is, their environment. In order to examine the political attitudes in the concept of politics, which covers a wide area, the concept of political participation should be examined first. In the study, this was given importance, and political attitudes were examined after political participation. In order to support the study, a survey was conducted on the scale of Muğla province. Taking the 2019 Local Elections as an example, a study was conducted on the factors that are effective in the formation and change of political attitudes. A comparative method was adopted in the study. Random methods and techniques were used to determine the target audience.
