Abstract (EN)

Title: Determination of Serum Levels of Lingo-1, Nogo-A, and Neurogranin Proteins in Schizophrenia Patients Objective: In our study, the aim was to determine the serum levels of Lingo-1, Nogo-A, Neurogranin, and Myelin Basic Protein proteins in patients with schizophrenia and to investigate the alterations in these biomolecules in terms of the pathogenesis and prognosis of the disease. Methods: The serum levels of Lingo-1, MBP, Neurogranin, and Nogo-A proteins were determined using the ELISA method in both schizophrenia patients and healthy volunteer individuals. The relationship between the data was evaluated. Parametric (t-test) and non-parametric (Mann-Whitney U) tests were used to compare the data Additionally, Pearson and Spearman correlation tests were conducted to demonstrate the relationships between the parameters. Results: Significant differences were found between the patient group and the control group in terms of Lingo-1, Nogo-A, and Neurogranin proteins (P=0.008, P=0.006, P=0.003, respectively). The serum levels of these proteins were significantly higher in the patient group compared to the control group. A positive correlation was observed among these proteins in the patient group. Conclusion: As a result, the serum levels of Lingo-1, Nogo-A, and Neurogranin proteins were found to be increased in schizophrenia patients overall. Furthermore, the positive correlation observed among these proteins suggests that they may be interconnected through different pathways and mechanisms. Key words: Schizophrenia, Nogo-A, Lingo-1, Neurogranin, Myelin Basic Protein, neuropsychiatry, remyelination
