Primary school teachers views on the application of class management

Dr. Şenay YAPICIIn this study, the researcher aims to find out the primary school teachers ingovernment schools of; whether the teachers carry out regulations behaviours necessaryfor class management and the methods how to tackle undesired students behaviours inclass from their point of view. A literature search was done and a theoretical sectionwas also completed.The research is conducted as a descriptive model. A questionaire of 40 Likerttype questions were prepared under the supervision of an expert and it was applied to213 primary school teachers working within Afyonkarahisar city. The data obtainedfrom the questionaire was evaluated using SPSS10 Windows based software. In order tofind out the difference in primary school teachers and variants, the percentages andAnova test were used. The result of questionaire suggests that there found to be noproblem in carrying out of regulations and behaviours necessary for class managementand methods which primary school teacher apply to tackle with students who showsundesired behaviour in the classroom.These are the results from the research:iiIn the application of necessary regulations and behaviours and in tackling withundesiired students behaviours female teachers over male teachers, teachers in 40-49age group over other age groups, teachers who have higher degree (Educationalvocational school or received education lessons additionally) over other educationlevels, teachers originally not trained for delivering lectures in primary school overteachers trained for delivering lectures in primary schools, teachers with an experienceof 20 years or more over the teachers in all other work experience groups, the teacherswho teaches 2nd grade of primary schools over other level grade teachers and finallyteachers who has classroom population between 31-40 over other classroom groups arefound to be positive views and caring for the students.
