The evaluation of the class teachers' opinions about teaching local history (Fourth class sample)

This research is done in an attemp to evaluate the opinions of the fourth class teachers about teaching the local history. In this research, the descriptive survey model is used. The class teachers who give education to the fourth class in Araklı, Trabzon for 2016-2017 school year are designated as the research staff. In this research, SPSS programme for analysis of data is used. According to the results obtained, it is ensued that class teachers don't have enough idea about teaching the local history. It is learned that teaching the local history can be used as complementary activities in the lessons and the local history studies will avail intramural and extrascholastic exercises. It is precipitated that studies about the local history arenot enough in the programme and leaving a different department about the local history in the programme will be beneficial in terms of educational activities. It is understood that preparing working papers and doing project studies for making the local history more productive are essential. It is precipitated that the local history was improved the ideas such as data collection, assimiation, analysis and synthesis and was contributed interdisciplinary studies. End of the study, according to the results obtained, some suggestion is offered for solving the problem.
