Abstract (EN)
Inclusive education is an increasingly accepted educational approach with its approach that includes all disadvantaged segments in teaching and learning processes. Social studies is a course that suits the inclusive education approach with the idea of socializing all disadvantaged groups and including them in the teaching and learning process. Social studies teachers, who are responsible for teaching this course, need to differentiate teaching according to inclusive education and improve their competencies in this sense.The aim of this research is to improve the inclusive education competencies of social studies teachers who have foreign students in their classes. Qualitative research approach and action research design were adopted in this research. The research was conducted with three social studies teachers working in a publicschool in the spring semester of the 2021–2022 academic year. In the research, a Professional Development Program (PDP) for inclusive education was developed for teachers, this program was given to teachers theoretically, and then the teachers implemented it in their classrooms. Data of the research; It was collected through semi-structured interviews, teacher personal portfolio files, observations, researcher and participant diaries and evaluation forms. The data were analyzed through systematic analysis and content analysis technique. As a result of the research; It has been determined that PDPprovides improvement in the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values of social studies teachers towards inclusive education. As a result of the research, it is recommended to develop applied professional development programs to improve the inclusive education competencies of social studies teacher.
